EVE’S ORPHANS
Eve’s Orphans is a non-registered charity that was created by the doctors and staff at Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care to provide funding for the care of orphaned and abandoned animals that would otherwise be euthanized. It was named for our very first adoptee, a stray pit bull with many health problems. We were able to treat her and find her a great new home, but at considerable expense. By donating to the Eve’s Orphans fund, you are helping us to provide reduced-cost care to many of those pets that need it.
Eve’s Orphans is able to help save pets with donations from people who love animals as much as we all do here at BCVC. Meet Captain Jack Sparrow! He is a sweet and playful two year old Pitbull. He was rescued by Dr. Wichman from the Suffolk Animal Shelter. Captain’s left front leg had an extensive fracture that would not heal on its own, so unfortunately the leg had to be amputated. Since then, he has made a full recovery from the surgery. While under our care, he also completed heartworm treatment. Our three-legged friend has been adopted into a loving, forever home!
Soot & Sullie, our fun loving siblings, were brought to us by one of our clients who were unable to take them in. Once vaccinated, they were adopted out to their individual loving homes. They are happy and healthy!
Oakley, our sweet (and at times, a little misunderstood) stray kitten, was found by a good Samaritan and dropped off to us. Unfortunately, he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, making his chances for adoption more difficult. Fortunately, he was able to find his forever home and is living the good life.
Clover, an extremely sweet 2 year old Doberman, was brought to us by the Suffolk Animal Control. She was found suffering from a gunshot wound on her back. Dr. Wichman took her in as one of our orphans and, with the help of your generous donations, were able to perform the necessary surgery she needed to save her life! She has made a full recovery and is enjoying her new home!
Stella, formerly known as Hope, is a very sweet and playful pup who was rescued by Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care from the Suffolk shelter, where she was found in a Food Lion parking lot. She suffered from Demadex, intestinal parasites, and due to severe malnourishment had some growth abnormalities in her front legs. With proper treatment and corrective casts, she has made a full recovery and can now walk normal! Stella has recently found her forever home and we could not be more thrilled!
Tuna, a very sweet little girl, was found abandoned on the side of the road with a severe eye infection. With your generous donations, we were able to perform surgery and remove her left eye. Tuna was adopted into her forever home.
Taps, was found by one of our employees here at Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care along the side of the road. She is very sweet, loves to cuddle and has found her forever home here with us as our newest clinic cat!
Luna, was rescued by Dr. Johnson of Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care. One of our clients brought her in to us after finding her abandoned on the side of a bridge. She had some trauma to the chin and needed to be vaccinated. Your donations are what allows us to continue care for these pets and we are forever grateful! We have since adopted her into a very loving home. Her new name is Daisy and she lives with her new sister, Georgia.
Olaf, our sweet feline friend, was fostered by one of our employees here at Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care. He is an adorable 7 week old male kitten who is very playful, loves cats & dogs, and taking naps! He started his series of vaccinations and will be neutered once he turns 6 months old. Olaf was adopted into a loving home. He is learning to co-exist with his new dog friend, Axle.
Trix, our sweet girl, was rescued by Dr. Wichman of Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care. Trix was unhappy living with her other feline housemates and truly wanted to find a single cat home. She has found just that and is settling in well! We are so excited that we will be doing her routine care and we will get to see her from time to time.
Lily, was rescued from the Suffolk Animal Shelter by Dr. Wichman of Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care. Unfortunately, her time at the shelter was expring. Lily was healthy, vaccinated, spayed and negative for felv/fiv. She has since been adopted into a wonderful new home by one of our clients here at Bennetts Creek. She also has a new name, Georgia! She is a good big sister to another orphan, Daisy.
Pants, our handsome boy, was taken in as a resuce by Dr. Wichman of Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care. He was originally found in a storm drain by one of our clients and they brought him into their home. Unfortunately, he was not getting along with one of his housemates and he was surrendered to our clinic. We sent an email with his picture and biography to our clients in an effort to find him a new home. We received a response and a picture stating that this was a young mans cat who had been lost since before Christmas. They sent us a picture and sure enough it was “Pants”! What a happy ending and we were all SO thrilled!
Amber, a lovable short haired tabby kitty, was rescued from the Suffolk Animal Shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. Amber is a female cat who we believe to be approximately 10 months old. She has tested negative on her felv/fiv test and has been given her first dose of distemper vaccine. Once she is spayed she will be going to her new home along with Toby. We are thrilled for her to start her new life in a wonderful and loving home!
Toby, a handsome short haired tabby kitty, has also been rescued from the Suffolk Animal Shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. Toby is a male cat who we believe to be approximately 11 months old. He has been tested negative on his felv/fiv test and has also been given his first dose of distemper. He has joined Amber (pictured above) at their new home and now goes by “Eggles”. We are very excited for him to begin his new life in a wonderful and loving home!
Lily, a sweet and loving golden retriever, came to us from the Suffolk Animal Shelter. With your generous donations we were able to take her in and foster her. It did not take very long for the entire staff to fall in love with this wonderful dog. She has since been adopted and is enjoying her new life. We still get to see her often which brings a smile to all of our faces!
Bagheera, a handsome male cat, was rescued from Suffolk Animal Shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. It was only a matter of time before he was going to be euthanized due to his length of time at their location. He was completely healthy, vaccinated and neutered and has since found his forever home.
Moo, our black and white lovable kitty, was brought to us from the Suffolk Animal Shelter with a broken leg. Thanks to your help we were able to foster him. He has a wonderful home and has been adopted by one of our clients for their grandson!
Raphael, our cute stray kitten, was found in the sewer drain across from the clinic. He was very hungry and frightened but warmed up to us quickly. We spent a few weeks nursing him back to good health and now he has been adopted into a loving home where he is able to receive the life he deserves!
Biggie Smalls, our notorious “C-A-T”, was rescued from the Suffolk Shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. His time was expiring at their facility. With your donations we fully vaccinated him and neutered him. He did test positive for FIV. We spread the word to help find him a new home and it did not take long for someone to fall in love. He now goes by “Max” and is enjoying a wonderful life with his new friends, Missy the cat and Rita the dog.
Candy Corn, our sweet calico, was rescued from the Suffolk shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. Her time there was coming to an end. She was completely healthy, up to date on her vaccinations and spayed. We were able to find her a wonderful home with one of our clients. She lives with 2 dogs and 4 furry friends.
Spanky, our fun loving Shih Tzu puppy, was also rescued from the Suffolk Animal Shelter by Dr. Brandon Wichman. His previous owner surrendered him because he was not able to provide the one on one attention he needed. He was healthy, fully vaccinated and we neutered him. Our practice manager’s sister was looking for a new friend for her Cavalier King Charles, Darla. Spanky was the perfect fit!
Binx, our sweet feline friend, was rescued from the Suffolk Animal Shelter. It was only a matter of time before he was going to be euthanized due to his length of time at the facility. He was completely healthy, neutered, and declawed in the front. Binx has now been adopted into a wonderful family and is finally enjoying the TLC he deserves.
Wink, formerly known as Willie, had several medical issues when we found him. He was severely dehydrated, had an upper respiratory infection, several fleas, and a ruptured eye. With your generous donations we treated him for these symptoms. We have recently found him a loving home and have performed his eye surgery and neutered him.
Autumn, a beautiful long haired cat, was rescued from Suffolk Animal Shelter on National Cat Day. She was updated on all of her vaccinations, spayed, and showed no health problems after her examination. We have adopted her to a wonderful family who had recently lost one of their beloved pets. She is adapting well to her new environment and we still get to see her when she comes into the clinic for her regular check-ups.
Lola, a precious chocolate Labradoodle, needed to be re-homed due to her owner being severely allergic. When Lola came to us she had multiple puncture wounds from what appeared to be from an unknown animal. With your donations we were able to treat Lola’s wounds and she has begun healing. She has been adopted and is enjoying her new life.
Wilson, a Jack Russell Terrier, came to our clinic from the Suffolk shelter with several health issues including heartworms and tracheitis. Our team was able to treat him back to good health and have since found him a joyful and loving home.
Tripod, our feline friend, came to us from the Suffolk shelter with an injured leg that required amputation. The surgery was a success. We also at that time were able to spay and microchip her. She is now living the good life with her adoptive family.
Gizmo, a sweet and lovable Lhasa Apso that we rescued from the shelter, had a severe eye issue requiring us to remove it. We also were able to have him neutered with the help of the generous donations we received. He was adopted and is living a wonderful life of luxury.
Kirby, our sweet Cock-a-poo, was found in a Walmart parking lot by one of our employees. Luckily, he was found with no health issues. With your help we were able to give him the vaccines that he needed and neuter him. He is now enjoying his new home.
Bingo, a sweet Pitbull puppy with a big heart, was rescued from shelter with an elbow fracture. We believe he had been struck by a vehicle. We were able to treat him with a splint and therapeutic laser treatments. This allowed us to avoid surgery and he is expected to make a full recovery. He has been adopted and is enjoying his new life.
Mango, our sassy Sharpei, was adopted by us from the shelter to treat her with severe mange. She has made a full recovery including having her spayed before she went home with her new adoptive owner. She now lives a happy, healthy and joyful life.
Rascal, a Pitbull puppy that the entire staff grew to love, came to us with puppy strangles. After several treatments you would never be able to tell that he was unhealthy. He has been adopted and we still get to see him quite often. He is still just as lovable as he was the first time we met him.
Seymore, our quirky feline friend, came to us from the shelter with an upper respiratory infection and heart murmur. He became one of our clinic mascots for a brief time. Katy, one of our former vet assistants had fallen completely head over heels with him and knew he belonged at home with her family.
Burnie, our cute and cuddly Yorkshire Terrier, that we adopted from the Suffolk shelter had caustic burns all over him. It was heartbreaking to see but with the right treatment and care we were able to heal him back to good health. He is now enjoying his new life with his adoptive parents.
Marlin, our fun loving lab whom we all adore, came to us from the shelter with heartworms and a castration ablation. He has since then healed wonderfully and is now negative for heartworm disease! He was adopted by our former receptionist, Skylar. He is full of personality and is living a happy life, one that includes spending most of his time on the beach during the summer months.
Sarah, also known as “Sandy” our friendly feline, was sadly thrown from a car into the middle of the road causing her to have a prolapsed rectum. We couldn’t bear to see this sweet girl suffer or to be euthanized so with your donations we were able to make sure she had the proper care and returned her back to good health. She has been adopted into a wonderful home and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Layla, our sweet and lovable boxer, was adopted by a loving family due to her original owner passing away. Unfortunately, no other family members were able to care for her and she was going to be euthanized. We took Layla in knowing that we would be able to find her a forever home. She is living a wonderful life with her adoptive parents and two other furry friends.
Bo-Bo, our fun kitten friend, was found by one of our employees. He was diagnosed with ringworm and after several treatments he was back to himself again in no time. He lives with his new parents and is keeping them busy while also bringing much joy to their lives.
KiKi, our precious Himalayan kitty, came to us from the Suffolk Shelter severely matted and with a horrible respiratory infection. It took several costly treatments to make her healthy again. She has been adopted into a new home with plenty of other feline friends and we still get to see her sweet face often.
Jada, our boxer, was brought to us from the shelter with severe hypothermia, heartworms, hip dysplasia and malnourishment. Her story is heart wrenching as we found out she had been tied by a rope to a shed. We were very concerned about her well-being but we were able to make sure she had a full recovery. We later performed surgery including a hernia repair and spay with the help of your donations.
Jada passed away in July of 2014 due to renal failure. She will forever be in our hearts.
2007-2014
Lt. Dan, our very sweet and wild Pitbull, came from the shelter as a result of a cruelty case. After evaluating the dog it was determined that one of his hind leg would need to be amputated and he would need to undergo heartworm treatments, be neutered and all vaccines updated. The entire staff fell in love with this beautiful dog and could not stand to see it go back to the shelter and be euthanized. He has since, found his loving forever home.
