Dr. Brandon R. Wichman

Veterinary Owner

Dr. Wichman was born in Phoenix, AZ, and grew up in Nebraska, Ohio, and finally in West Virginia. He attended West Virginia Univiersity for undergrad, and received his DVM from The University of Georgia in 1990.

He lives in Smithfield with his kids, 4 dogs, 3 cats, assorted fish and chickens. His hobbies include playing guitar, live music, carpentry, and finding the nicest beaches to relax on.

Dr. Robert M. Johnson Jr.

Veterinary Owner

Dr. Johnson is married to Elizabeth, who is also a veterinarian. They have two children, Nicholas and Molly. Dr. Johnson grew up in the small town of Chapin, S.C. where he was active in track and swimming. He earned his B.S. in Biology in 1990 from Furman University and his DVM degree from the University of Georgia in 1995. Upon graduation he moved to Smithfield. Dr. Johnson has 2 dogs and 3 cats. He enjoys playing softball for Trinity UMC, working out, and yardwork.

Michelle Yuchnovicz

Practice Manager

Michelle Yuchnovicz, a long term client of BCVC, decided to make a career change and joined the staff in Feb 2008. She has five cats and is “respectfully” called the crazy cat lady by the other employees.  Her hobbies include sailing, scuba and underwater photography. Front Desk Supervisor

April joined the BCVC team in April of 2009. Her big smile and bright personality keeps everyone laughing. She and her husband have a baby boy named Jackson and a snuggly little beagle named Lucy.  She was promoted to Front Desk Supervisor in the Spring of 2012.

Taylor

Front Staff

Taylor joined the BCVC team in July of 2014. She has graduated from the Pruden Center for Veterinary Assisting and plans to continue her education in Veterinary Technology. In her free time, Taylor enjoys spending time with her two cuddly Dachshunds, Ginger and Sandi Jo.

Heather

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Heather joined the BCVC team in 2004. She has an Associates degree in Science from Tidewater Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health from Old Dominion University. Heather is currently in school to become a Veterinary Technician. She has three dogs, Stormy, Penny and Bree, and two birds, Coco and Green Baby.

Katie

Assistant

Katie is one of our newest additions to the BCVC team. She has a degree in Sports Medicine from Radford University and is currently in school to become a Veterinary Technician. Kate has three dogs, a Yorkie named Bentley, a Jack Russell Terrier named Bailee, and a Golden Retriever named Marlin. She also has a horse named Big Ben.

Emily

Assistant

Emily joined the BCVC team in March of 2015. She is currently in school to become a Veterinary Technician and has a passion for animals and a special love for horses. Emily has a cat named Ollie and a horse named BeetleJuice.

Savannah

Assistant

Savannah joined the BCVC team in February of 2015. She has a one-eyed cat named Tuna, who she adopted from Eve’s Orphans.

Marianne

Assistant

Marianne joined the BCVC team after a long hiatus from veterinary medicine. She was a licensed Veterinary Technician in South Carolina and is getting back to what she truly loves; working with animals.

Summer

Assistant

Summer joined the BCVC team in June of 2013. She is currently in school to become a Veterinary Technician. She has 8 cats and two German Shepherds, Grizzly and Neo.

Taps

Clinic Mascot

Taps is our newest mascot! She was found by one of our employees here at Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care along the side of the road. She is very sweet, and loves to sit in the sink underneath a running faucet. She has found her forever home here with us.

Hannah

Clinic Mascot

Hannah is one of our newer additions. She enjoys sitting on ledges, playing with anything she can get her paws on, and “talking”!
